Marco Lops was born in Napoli, Italy, in 1961. He received the Dr. Eng.
degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Naples, Italy, in 1986. In 1987, he joined the Department of Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering of the University
of Naples as a Ph.D. student in Electronic Engineering. From 1986 to 1987, he was a Radar System Engineer with Selenia (now Alenia-Marconi Systems), Rome, Italy. From 1991 to 2000, he was an Associate Professor of radar theory and digital transmission theory at the University of Naples.
Since 2000, he has been a Professor at University of Cassino, Italy. From 2009 to 2010, he was a Professor with the National Polytechnic Institute of Toulouse (ENSEEIHT - University of Toulouse), within the Signal and Communication group
of the IRIT Laboratory.
Marco Lops held teaching positions at the University of Lecce
and, during 1991, 1998, and 2000, he was on sabbatical leave at University of
Connecticut, Rice University, and Princeton University, respectively. During
2008, he was a visiting professor with University of Minnesota and Columbia
University. Since 2010, he has held a visiting position at ENSEEIHT.
